Mayer Mizrachi

Mayer Mizrachi is Mayor of Panama City, Panama, elected at 36 as the youngest mayor in the city's history. After studying finance at American University in Washington, where he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees, he founded Criptext, an encrypted email service built to protect users' privacy. As mayor he advocated for technology as an engine of job creation and welcomed digital currency. He is also an outspoken advocate for Panama's alignment with the United States over China. He was born and raised in Panama City, where he still lives.
