Lee Smith

Lee Smith is an American journalist and nonfiction author known for his writing on U.S. politics, foreign policy, and media. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and raised in New York City, he studied at George Washington University and Cornell University and later studied Arabic in Cairo and Beirut. Smith has worked as a senior editor at The Weekly Standard, served as editor-in-chief of The Village Voice Literary Supplement, and written for outlets including The New York Times, GQ, Tablet, and RealClearInvestigations; he is also a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute. He is the author of several books, most notably The Plot Against the President (2019), a New York Times bestseller examining the investigations surrounding the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
