Robert D. McEwen is an American former Republican congressman and seasoned public policy figure. He served six terms (1981–1993) in the U.S. House representing Ohio’s 6th District, following three terms in the Ohio General Assembly. Prior to politics, he ran a successful real estate and development firm.

During his tenure in Congress, McEwen held powerful committee roles—particularly on the Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Rules Committee—and played key diplomatic roles, including describing U.S. interests as Special Presidential Envoy and representing the U.S. in historic events across Europe.

Following congressional service, he transitioned into advisory and leadership roles: serving as Senior Advisor at Greenebaum, Doll & McDonald; Executive Director of the Council for National Policy; and trustee of Southern State Community College. A sought-after media figure and speaker, he remains active in promoting conservative, free-market principles. He maintains his Ohio roots and family life in Hillsboro with his wife Liz and their four children.
