Jon Voight

Jon Voight is an American actor widely regarded as one of the most versatile performers of his generation, best known for his Academy Award-winning role as a paralyzed Vietnam War veteran in Coming Home (1978). Born on December 29, 1938, in Yonkers, New York, Voight studied acting at the Catholic University of America before moving to New York City to pursue theater and television work in the 1960s.

He rose to stardom throughout the 1970s with acclaimed roles in Deliverance (1972) and The Champ (1979), later earning further Oscar nominations for Runaway Train (1985) and Ali (2001). In 2019, he received the National Medal of Arts in recognition of his contributions to American film.

Outside his acting career, Voight is known as one of Hollywood's most outspoken conservative voices and is the father of actors Angelina Jolie and James Haven.
