Chris Elise (1977-2023) was a French-born professional photographer who independently covered sports events around the world. He regularly worked with major photo agencies in Europe and in the USA and his work was published internationally. He spent 16 years photographing the NBA (including 2009 Finals, 2011 Playoffs, 2012 NBA Finals and Playoffs). Based in Franklin, TN, Chris Elise shot sports on four continents. He became a U.S. citizen in 2021. In Memoriam—Our dear friend died in 2023. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
