Bruce Blakeman

Bruce Blakeman is an American attorney and Republican politician who has served as Nassau County Executive in New York since 2022. Born in Oceanside and raised in Valley Stream, he earned a political science degree from Arizona State University and a law degree from California Western School of Law. Before becoming county executive, Blakeman served as a Nassau County legislator, Hempstead Town Councilman, and commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. His tenure has emphasized fiscal restraint, public safety, law enforcement, and opposition to sanctuary-city policies. He was elected Nassau County Executive in 2021, becoming the county’s first Jewish executive.
