PragerU Endowment
Background
In 2018, several loyal donors approached PragerU with an idea: to establish a permanent endowment that would provide the organization with the kind of long-term financial strength traditionally associated with universities and other enduring institutions.
Until then, PragerU had focused primarily on raising annual funds for urgent and timely initiatives. While this approach fueled rapid growth and tremendous impact, it also made the organization more vulnerable to fluctuations in annual giving and market conditions.
With seed funding from generous donors, PragerU established its first endowment—a “forever fund” designed to preserve the original gifts in perpetuity while allowing a portion of investment returns to support PragerU’s work over time. The endowment provides a foundation of long-term financial stability, helping to balance the natural ups and downs of annual fundraising while strengthening PragerU’s ability to plan, operate, and grow for generations to come.
Since its establishment, PragerU has carefully stewarded these resources to protect and strengthen the organization’s long-term financial position. Today, a significant portion of our reserves is allocated to the endowment. The fund is structured to protect principal over the long term, and in most years, PragerU has chosen to reinvest investment gains, further strengthening the endowment and helping to prepare for future challenges and opportunities.
