If we want to fix America’s health crisis, we need a media that tells the truth—not one bought and paid for by the very industries making us sick.

America is facing a health crisis. Despite taking more prescription drugs and spending more on healthcare than any other country, our health is getting worse:
U.S. life expectancy is lower than nearly every other advanced nation.
Nearly 75% of adults and 40% of teens are overweight or obese.
1 in 4 children has prediabetes.
6 in 10 Americans suffer from at least one chronic disease.
Big Pharma and Big Food are at the heart of America’s health crisis. Big Pharma pushes and promotes addictive drugs that create dependence rather than addressing the root causes of illness. Meanwhile, Big Food companies flood our shelves with ultra-processed products packed with additives and chemicals—many banned in other countries due to health risks—driving obesity, diabetes, and chronic disease.
The media should be exposing the corruption in our health and food systems—but instead, it’s cashing in. Big Pharma and Big Food are the biggest spenders on TV advertising, using their money to buy influence and silence any criticism.
The U.S. is one of only two countries in the world that allows pharmaceutical companies to advertise directly to consumers on television. This isn’t journalism—it’s a corrupt business model.
Instead of holding these industries accountable, major media outlets serve as their PR departments—pushing their narratives, burying the truth, and shielding them from scrutiny.
If we want to fix America’s health crisis, we need a media that tells the truth—not one bought and paid for by the very industries making us sick.
