Tulsi Gabbard

Tulsi Gabbard is serving as the 8th Director of National Intelligence, a Cabinet‑level position confirmed by the Senate on February 12, 2025. Prior to this, she represented Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House from 2013 to 2021, becoming the first Hindu member of Congress. A military officer and Iraq War veteran, Gabbard serves in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Gabbard ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020. She left the Democratic Party in 2022 to become an Independent, and officially joined the Republican Party in October 2024.
