David Hatchwell Altaras

David Hatchwell Altaras leads Excem Grupo, the Madrid-based trading and investment firm his late father built. He also chairs the Selection Committee of the Genesis Prize, the $1 million award known as the "Jewish Nobel," whose past recipients include Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Hatchwell was President of the Jewish Community of Madrid from 2011 to 2017 and co-founded ACOM, Spain's leading pro-Israel advocacy group. In 2015 he co-founded the Fundación HispanoJudía to connect the Spanish-speaking and Jewish worlds. For three decades he and his family have backed philanthropic projects across Israel, Spain, and China. He lived in the US and in China before returning home to Madrid, where he and his wife, Natalia, are raising three children.
