Tell the United States Department of Education, National School Boards Association, National Parent Teacher Organization, and all American schools that you demand diversity of thought in education

Students should be exposed to a variety of arguments to learn critical thinking skills and make up their own minds. Since schools are promoting the left’s ideas in their curriculum (with topics like gender fluidity, the “climate crisis,” and the 1619 Project), we simply ask for an equal balance of alternative points of view.

PragerU is receiving national attention from leftist organizations accusing teachers of being overly political and/or hateful when using PragerU videos in classrooms. After two generations of controlling the narrative, the left refuses to allow different viewpoints in the classroom.

Young Americans deserve better. PragerU provides a perspective that should be heard.

The best ideas from the best minds, including former prime ministers, professors, legal scholars, and fellows from respected policy groups, are summarized in PragerU videos. These videos are being used by pro-America educators and parents across the country to give youth another point of view.

Educators who are willing to show BOTH sides of the arguments are being attacked, threatened, and reprimanded. This is wrong.

One example occurred near Toledo, Ohio, in the fall of 2020. PragerU was featured in an article by the Huffington Post reporting on a teacher who dared to use PragerU videos in her optional extra credit coursework. At first the school district did the right thing “...allowing the student to include videos that reflected views from the other side of the political spectrum…” But, after the HuffPost contacted the school, the district buckled under pressure and removed the assignment. The media spotlight on this bias was massive.

Thousands of examples like these occur on a daily basis. Teachers are scared of the left-wing mob in education, but with your support they will know that they are not alone in the fight for a balanced education.

Together, we can make a difference! Here is our letter demanding diversity of thought in education:

Dear United States Department of Education, National School Boards Association, National Parent Teacher Organization, and American Schools,

We, the parents and educators of America, are deeply concerned about the bias in America’s education system. We demand that whenever a left-wing perspective of a given topic is presented (such as climate change, race relations, capitalism vs. socialism, gender identity, etc.), students have a chance to hear an alternative perspective.

Education should teach children to think critically. We want children to be equipped to think freely and draw their own conclusions. Educational material should present balanced information that empowers students to think for themselves. This is the true intent of education.

We, the parents and educators of America, recommend that PragerU be used as a trusted and vetted resource to provide an alternate point of view. PragerU videos are presented by former prime ministers, professors, legal scholars, and fellows from respected policy groups. We ask that when critical race theory, the 1619 Project, climate change, the ideas of Howard Zinn and Karl Marx, and the like, are being taught in schools, PragerU videos be used in the classroom as a balanced representation of the values that half of this country hold dear.

Signed,

We, the Parents and Educators of America
