Jim Borax is a native New Yorker and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin. After serving in the army at Ft. Dix and Ft. Bliss, Jim became a National Representative for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He later returned to Manhattan and began a 42-year career in commercial real estate with Helmsley Spear. In 1966, with his new wife, Sheri, Jim relocated to Los Angeles with Tishman Realty & Construction Co. It was there that he met he met his future business partner. In 1967, they established Summit Realty Co. Jim taught courses in real estate at UCLA Extension and Pierce College. The Boraxes have a son, Hugh, and a daughter, Romi. An active father, coaching and playing a variety of sports, Jim also made time to serve on the L.A. Board for Jewish National Fund. Upon retirement from Real Estate in 2006, he formed an entertainment company, California Cabaret, which provides musical entertainment for country clubs, private parties and fundraisers for nonprofits. He currently resides in Rancho Mirage, CA.
